EEA-ESEM 2023: European Job Market Morning. Room: 40.S02
Following on from the very successful Job Market morning held during EEA-ESEM Milan 2022, EEA will be replicating this programme of workshops dedicated to dedicating all workshop held between 9:30 - 12:30 to candidates on the 2023/2024 job market. Full information on the programme is below:
1.General overview about the stages of the job market & mental health (ANTONIO & TERESA)
2. Info on roles of economists in non-academic placements (ECB) Short break with hosts
3. How to put your job market package together (including how to write the intro of the JMP, securing good letters of recommendation; things to say and things to avoid on all letters submitted) and whether to prepare a video presentation (DUARTE & DAVID)
4. Pitching your paper, advice on behaviour, things to say etc., during interviews and fly-outs (DAVID)
5. Negotiating offers and contracts, what’s negotiable, etc. ... and exploding offers (what they are and how to handle them). (DAVID)
